Valor nutricional do farelo de algodão para a tilápia do nilo (Oreochromis niloticus) - DOI: 10.4025/actascianimsci.v31i1.505 Animal Sciences

Determinou-se a composição química dos farelos de algodão 28,0; 38,0 e 46,0% de proteína bruta e os coeficientes de digestibilidade aparente (CDA) pela tilápia do Nilo da matéria seca, proteína, aminoácidos, energia, lipídeo e minerais. Os CDA foram determinados, usando-se dieta-referência purificada, contendo 0,1% do indicador óxido de crômio-III. As rações-teste continham 60,0% da dieta-referência e 40,0% dos alimentos em estudo. Os resultados mostraram diferença (p < 0,05) entre os CDA dos nutrientes dos farelos de algodão. Os CDA dos três farelos de algodão foram: matéria seca = 53,45 a 54,32%; proteína = 71,56 a 74,81%; energia = 53,80 a 58,60%; lipídeo = 85,37 a 89,11%; fósforo = 33,75 a 34,50%; cálcio = 41,21 a 43,75%; ferro = 62,02 a 79,85%;...

Variations saisonnières in situ de la production et de la composition des biodépots de trois mollusques estuariens (Mytilus edulis, Crassostrea gigas, Crepidula fornicata) ArchiMer

The biodeposition was quantified on the field with sediment traps. All over the year, the biodeposition was the lowest for Crepidula fornicata. Mytilus edulis rejected more biodeposits during winter, and Crassostrea gigas during spring and autumn. The percentage of organic matter sonsumed and digested was higher during summer. The constituttive elements of the digested organic matter was not always the same, all over the year. The energy content of the digest fraction was higher in spring. For Mytilus edulis the ration intake was higher in winter and spring, related with the gametogenetic ans spawning period. An analysis of the mineral constutents of the natural food was made.

Voluntary feed intake, nitrogen and phosphorus losses in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fed increasing dietary levels of soy protein concentrate ArchiMer

High energy extruded diets were formulated to contain the same level of protein supplied either by soy protein concentrate (SPC) or fish meal. Three experiments were performed in order to measure voluntary feed intake and feed waste, faecal losses and soluble losses of nitrogen and phosphorus in rainbow trout (average body weight: 100 g). Voluntary feed intake and growth performance of fish fed with demand feeders were not different when diets contained 0, 50 or 75 % SPC instead of fish meal. Total replacement of fish meal by SPC led to a significant decrease in feed intake and resulted in poor growth. This was partly due to methionine deficiency in the SPC based diet. The objective of this study was to evaluate the processing of millet grain provided at two supplementation frequencies for grazing beef cattle during the dry season on nutritional parameters. Five rumen-cannulated crossbred steers, with 24 to 26 months of age and average body weight of 428.6±26.06 kg, were assigned to a Latin square design (5 × 5) in a 2 × 2 + 1 factorial arrangement, as follows: two forms of millet grain (whole grains - or ground; WG - GG), two strategies of concentrate supplementation (daily distribution - 7X; or three times a week - 3X) and a control treatment (mineral mixture - MM). Hemicellulosic agricultural by-products such as corn stover (CS) are highly available materials which represent an opportunity to develop value added products. Native Aspergillus niger GS1 was used for solid-state fermentation (SSF) on alkali pre-treated CS (ACS) aimed to optimize xylanolytic enzymes production, and their effect on in vitro ruminal and true digestibility of ACS. Enzyme production was empirically modelled using a fractional factorial design 2(9-5), and the resulting significant factors were glucose, yeast extract and two mineral salts, which were arranged in a Draper-Lin optimization design at two levels. The effects of organic acid (double-coated calcium butyrate base supplement) on performance and carcass traits of broiler chickens were assessed in three groups (PC, NC1 and NC2). The organic acid was added in three phases of feeding (1-21d, 22-35d, 36-42d) in PC, NC1 (PC deduction 40 kcal ME/kg and both methionine and lysine 1.5%) and NC2 (PC deduction 60 kcal ME/kg and both methionine and lysine 2.2%). Organic acid was added in PC with three period dosages 750-500-500 ppm and in both NC1 and NC2 1000-750-750 ppm.
